We Love Whole Foods Market!

ARLGP executive director, Patsy Murphy, accepts a check from Portland Whole Foods Market store team leader, Robert Maxwell.

Today, we welcomed Robert Maxwell and Aran Meara from the Portland Whole Foods Market (WFM) to the ARLGP. They generously presented us with a check for over $2,600. These funds were raised through the Whole Foods Market Mason Jar Program, a tip and donation collection at WFM’s food service stations!

We are extremely grateful for our ongoing partnership with our local WFM. If you are a costumer at the Portland WFM, you have likely seen the Feed Pets Now Program at the registers. Feed Pets Now allows WFM customers to purchase a care package of items that we use at the ARLGP. Care packages range from $3-$10 each, and provide us with everything from canned pet food, cat litter, laundry detergent, holistic medicine, dog treats- and much more! When a customer purchases a care package, WFM stores it in their receiving department for our weekly pick-up of supplies. Since January 1st of 2014 we have received pet supplies totaling over $17,000 from Whole Foods Market customers and employees. These donations help us provide care and treatment to over 4,000 animals annually, and support our life-saving programs.

We are consistently overwhelmed with the generosity and support of our community members. We cannot be more thankful for the generosity of WFM and their customers. If you are a WFM customer, and a supporter of our Feed Pets Now Program, please accept a heart-felt thank you from the ARLGP staff, volunteers, and furry guests. Your continued support at the WFM check-out helps us save more lives every day.

Want to participate in the WFM Feed Pets Now Program? Simply stop by the Portland WFM and grab a care package at check-out! It’s that easy.
