The ARLGP was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to provide new medical equipment for our spay and neuter clinic. We could not be more thankful of the Petco Foundation’s generosity. This grant will significantly increase our capabilities and services in the clinic.
Equipment that will be updated and added include a medical monitor that will allow us to monitor our surgical patients more safely and comprehensively during spay/neuter and other surgical procedures at the ARLGP. It will allow us to triage sick guests and measure blood pressure on others in-house, providing us more diagnostic information. We will also receive a fluid pump which will administer intravenous fluid therapy to geriatric surgical patients and ill patients with compromised hydration status. This will be especially beneficial during the hot summer months for animals who are brought to the ARLGP suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Dr. Beth Sperry, ARLGP clinic veterinarian, is thrilled at what the new medical equipment will provide. “This equipment will allow us to treat animals with varying medical needs right here at the ARLGP. We will be able to provide faster and more comprehensive treatment, especially in urgent situations. We are very appreciative of the Petco Foundation’s support of our clinic, as it is a resource to our community.”
Please join us in thanking the Petco Foundation for providing shelters and recues the resources to increase their community impact. Together we will help many more animals who are in need of medical care at the ARLGP.
