Our annual fall event, Paws in the Park, has always been a staple event for the ARLGP, uniting community members and their pooches for a day of furry activity. For the past two years, Paws in the Park was held at the Westbrook Middle School, next door to our current facility. This year, due to construction of our new Arthur P. Girard adoption center, we were presented with an opportunity to move back to Portland and reshape what this fall tradition offers. Our goal has always been to hold a fun, engaging, festive and most importantly, dog-friendly event to celebrate the season with our human and canine friends.
This year, we are excited to present Ales for Tails, a dog-friendly beer festival at Thompson’s Point on Saturday, October 3rd, from 2-5pm. Ales for Tails, presented by IDEXX and Thompson’s Point, will be an afternoon of beer tastings, food trucks, activities for dogs and humans, and much more. We are thrilled to be partnering with some of Maine’s best breweries, who are generously donating their time and delicious beer to this awesome event:
Allagash Brewing Company (Portland)
Austin Street Brewery (Portland)
Barreled Souls Brewing Company (Saco)
Baxter Brewing Co. (Lewiston)
Foundation Brewing Company (Portland)
Funky Bow Brewery (Lyman)
Gneiss Brewing Co. (Limerick)
Rising Tide Brewing (Portland)
Ales for Tails will feature Blake and Eva from Coast 93.1, who will be broadcasting live from the event providing music and entertainment. Tickets are just $25 per person and include tastings to the brewer booths. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome (and encouraged) and no additional cost.
We’re confident that this re-energized fall event will please humans and canines alike, and offer ample fun and festivity for everyone. Purchase your tickets today and join us at Ales for Tails on Saturday, October 3rd!
